How to disable macOS Gatekeeper and Allow Apps downloaded from: Anywhere

The most common messages received from users on Cmacapps are reports that the “app” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Trash! Like this:

It a simple fix and here is how we fix it:

Open the Terminal app from the /Applications/Utilities/ folder and then enter the following command syntax:
sudo spctl --master-disable
Hit return and authenticate with an admin password

This will allow you to open and run apps from “Anywhere” outside the Mac App Store.

To re-enable Gatekeeper simply run the following command in the Terminal app

sudo spctl --master-enable
